Started Working an ironworks as an apprentice. Worked for Suzuki electrical shop

Rice delivery service at Kyungsung Rice Mill

Devoted himself to the pharmaceutical industry as a drug salesman

Started “Gungbon Pharmacy”

1943

The Western Yakwoohoe: The meeting of local pharmacy managers in Mapo-gu & Seodaemun-gu was formed

1948

After the incident of fake Whal Myung Su in 1948, he decided to manufacture medicine

1951

Continued medicine sales in the Busan market during the evacuation period

1954

The plant at Bosu-dong, Busan extended and production goods expanded

1956

Incorporated Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.

1961

After visiting pharmaceutical companies in 16 countries for 97 days, he decided to start own-production of raw materials for antibiotic

Began giving scholarships for children of company members

Went abroad for inspection and market research for second overseas pharmaceutical firm

Established the Chong Kun Dang Scholarship Foundation

Provided 1,056 pyeong in Gangwon-do’s Pungho Academy (for students who could not advance to middle school)

Inauguration of the Chairman of the Korean Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association

Providing free meals for every employee

Establishment of a joint company with Rhone-Poulenc Korea

Published memoirs ‘Me, Pharmaceutics, and Chong Kun Dang’

Establishment of a joint company with Roche Korea
